In 2015, the scientific research fund of the school’s scientific research projects broke through 5 million yuan and hit a high of 5.721 million yuan, rising 264% from the prior year. The scientific research fund on the account reached 4.9404 million yuan, an increase of 243% over the previous year with the completion rate above 185.03%. Moreover, the rates of growth and completion in scientific research fund ranked first in the university. In the recently held 2016 Work Assignment Meeting of Xiamen University, president Zhu Chongshi vigorously gave acknowledgements and praises to the school’s scientific research spirit and development momentum.

In addition to the break-through made in scientific research fund, the school in 2015, by following the school’s discipline direction and scientific research main line, remarkably improved in scientific research strengths and achievements. In terms of setting up national social and scientific fund projects, one was selected as important project among four approved national social and scientific fund programs. And the totality of approved projects ranked top among liberal arts in the university. Thirty papers were published in journals listed in CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index) and six monographs were published as well, among which one was presented the “Third Award of Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award” and one was presented the “First Award of Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award”.
